Ranking PointsProvincials rankings are calculated using the a point system.
SCBC ChampionshipCompetitors must be a BC resident to be Ranked Provicially and be considered for SCBC Championship or selection to SCBC quota spots for Regional or National events .
Other FedrationsRanked Members from other Federations are not eligible to collect SCBC points to to be selected into SCBC Quota spots to Regional or National events.
Rolling-Up PointsPoints will be rolled up when ever a Non-Ranked competitor or competitor from another fedration finishes higher than a SCBC Ranked competitor. For example, Competitor A is Non-Ranked and Competitor B is Provincially ranked See the Quotas Points TieBreakers policy on the
Resource page.. If Competitor A finished 1st and Competitor B finsihed 2nd, then Competitor B will be awarded 1st place points. This roll-up will continue for each ranked competitor below.
Calculated Points for TiesIn the event of a tie, SCBC uses the IFSC tie point Tie Point Calculator
Calculated Points=(Rank Points+(Rank Points - Num Ties))/Num Ties
Example: if two competitors are tied for 16th place and 16th is normally worth 20pts (Local), we get their calculated points by (20+(20-2))/2= 19pts. Each competitor would then receive 19pts instead of 20. The reasoning is that when there are ties, that position is devalued proportionately by the number of ties for that position.
